In 2014, Catalan exports abroad achieved a record level: 60.19 billion euros. That is what the latest figures available from April 2015 say, from the entity ACCIÓ in the Departament d'Ocupació i Empresa of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Exports grew 3.1% last year compared with the previous year, a rise above the Eurozone average, which saw an increase of 1.8%. This makes Catalonia the region of Europe with the fourth-highest growth rate in exports. In recent years, the exports of Catalan companies abroad have grown more rapidly than sales in Spain. Since 2008, Catalonia has sold more in the rest of the world than in the Spanish State.

Of the 102.4 billion euros of total exports, only 42.2 billion are accounted for by Spain. In other words, some 58.7% of exports by Catalan companies are international. What's more, Catalonia is the leader in Spain in terms of foreign exports, accounting for 25.1% of the total.
