At 500,000 dollars give.com was the most expensive purchase of a domain name in 2015. The demand for short domain names is on the rise and they can demand astronomical amounts among Chinese buyers, who have a preference for this type.

The company that sells domain names Sedo (with two million clients and around 18 million domain names available) has made public its 'ranking' of the most expensive domain names in 2015, in which it also revealed the longest of them, which was sold for 140 US dollars.

Heika.com was the most expensive domain name purchased in 2015 in China ($300,000) and 0857.com was the most costly numerical domain name ($38,333).

These figures are based on the trading exchanges observed by Sedo around the world in the domain name sales sector (confidential transactions were not included in the analysis).
